Coco Rocha’s hilarious fashion flub – Page Six

Top model turned fashion designer Coco Rocha told us at the CFDA awards that when she began her career as a teen, she was so green she thought Donna Karan was two people — twins named Donna and Karan.

After Karan was honored at the CFDA gala with the founder’s award by Calvin Klein, Rocha — who now designs her own Co+Co label — recalled one of her first modeling jobs “opening a DKNY show.”

She did so well, she was asked to open another, for Karan’s fancier Donna Karan line. But when Rocha arrived for a fitting, Karan saw her and exclaimed, “Donna must love you!”

Confused Canadian newcomer Rocha somehow figured at the time, she joked, that the woman speaking about “Donna” in the third person must be “Karan” — Donna’s twin — and that the siblings had two lines, DKNY and Donna Karan.

Luckily a pal later set her straight.

Rocha was at a CFDA table with Jonathan Cheban and Texas teen Maya Henry, who attended with mom Azteca. Also honored were Thom Browne, Norma Kamali and Alessandro Michele.
