We Hear: Gisele Bundchen, Matt Damon, Wes Welker and more… – Boston Herald

• That Gisele Bundchen is saving the sea turtles. The United Nations has named Mrs. Tom Brady a goodwill ambassador as part of an unprecedented global campaign to fight the illegal trafficking of wildlife titled “Wild for Life.” Gi joins a pack of celebs who will each represent a species threatened by the illegal trade. “Knowledge is power and now is the time to set our minds to ending all illegal wildlife trade before the choice is no longer in our hands. Today, I am giving my name to change the game for sea turtles,” Bundchen said in a statement. She then Instagrammed a pic of a sea turtle superimposed over her face.

• That Gi’s hubby thinks Matt Damon should play him in any movie about his life. “He’s a great actor, and he’s from Boston, so we’ve got a few things in common. I’ve seen him throw a football, though. He definitely needs to work on that,” Brady told Harper’s Bazaar during one of his many, many Beautyrest Mattress flog-athons. (Yes, Tom, we noticed that your press tour skipped the Track Shack. Again.) No. 12 also told the mag that if he weren’t the world’s greatest QB, he’d like to be “that James Bond character” in his mattress ad. Also, in case you are interested (and we know you are), when your football hero gets up in the morning, the first thing he does is “take a drink of water, brush my teeth, get in the shower, and take the dogs out before they pee in the house.” See, he’s just like you!

• And speaking of Tom, his former go-to guy Wes Welker, now a free agent, says he doesn’t know if he’s ready to hang ’em up just yet. “Shoot, I don’t know,” Welker told
nfl.com. “This morning, I felt like I probably had zero (quality years left to play.) Some mornings I think maybe I can play one more, but I don’t know. I’m still trying to figure that out. … I’m not going to rush into any decision, but at the same time, I know we’re getting pretty close to the end.”
